Tuesday Nights 6:30pm - 8:30pm

YTH Worship 101

YTH Worship 101 is a multiyear development class for our youth who are interested in worship. We are looking for teens, 6th grade through 12th grade who have musical giftings and want to learn about worship. How we worship? Why we worship? How to play as a band? How to produce a worship service? etc.

We will meet once a week on Tuesday nights, 6:30pm to 8:30pm, in the church worship center.

Students involved in CG Youth Worship 101 will be diving deep into the Bible discovering Who we worship and why. Our discussions will often be student-led as we answer questions such as “Why does corporate worship matter? Who, really, is the focus of our worship? What is “spirit-led worship”? Does God give us guidelines or a model for our corporate worship? What does it mean to live a life of worship? In addition to Biblical teaching, we will be spending time worshiping together, introducing the basics of picking a music set, developing an ear for harmonies, teaching some music theory used on our worship teams, and growing leaders who desire to serve on and off the stage. Our hope is to form a youth worship band confidently leading their peers and beyond. Youth who wish to participate should have some musical training on their instrument or desire to learn the production aspects such as pro-presenter or sound.

Your Instructors

Tim and Bethany have been serving in worship ministry for over 25 years. Having their passion for music and for the Lord ignited while in youth ministry, Tim and Bethany both pursued musical training and a greater understanding of church worship. They desire to live a life that brings honor to Jesus and helping to encourage and raise up young worshippers in awe of Christ is a part of that desire. They currently serve on Common Ground’s Sunday worship team under Jimmy Aragon.
