Youth Ministry at Common Ground Church

One of our core values at Common Ground Church is Build Bridges, and part of that means being a multigenerational church where every generation has a place to belong and grow.

CG Youth is our student ministry for students in 6th–12th grade. We meet every Wednesday from 7:00–8:00 PM, with doors opening at 6:30 PM for games, hanging out, and connecting with friends and leaders.

Our heart is to create a safe and welcoming space where students can ask honest questions, share what they’re walking through, build meaningful relationships, and discover what it looks like to follow Jesus in their everyday lives.

We win when a student takes a step in owning their own faith.

Here's What to Expect

Weekly Onsite Services

Our weekly onsite services are designed to help students learn about God through His Word and discover how it applies to their everyday lives. We focus on helping students build a genuine relationship with Jesus, rather than simply giving them a list of rules to follow.

Here’s what a typical month at CG Youth looks like:

  • 1st Wednesday - Sermon/Worship
  • 2nd Wednesday - Small Groups
  • 3rd Wednesday - Bible Study/Worship
  • 4th Wednesday - Small Groups

Small Groups

Small groups are a big part of what we do at CG Youth. We want students to have a safe place where they can bring their questions, thoughts, and real-life experiences as they learn what it means to follow Jesus.

Our small groups are designed to:

  • Give students a safe place to ask honest questions and talk about their faith.
  • Remind students that they are not alone in what they think, feel, or experience.
  • Help students build relationships with peers and trusted leaders they can turn to for encouragement, guidance, and support.

Our goal isn’t for students to have all the answers; it’s to give them a place to ask, learn, grow, and take steps in owning their faith.

What We Believe

  • Bible - The scriptures are God’s divinely inspired words and therefore are our sole authority for life.
    • 2 Timothy 3:16
  • The Trinity - There is one God who co-exists in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  The Trinity is equal in authority and nature, but they fulfill different roles.
    • Matthew 28:19
  • Salvation - Salvation is the free gift of God for the redemption of man from the power and penalty of sin. Because of Jesus’ death and resurrection, salvation is offered to all who by faith accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
    • Romans 10:9-10
  • The Holy Spirit - Every believer is indwelt by the Holy Spirit at conversion.  Every believer can also live a Spirit-filled and Spirit-empowered life. We believe all the gifts of the Holy Spirit are in operation in the church today, through the lives of believers.
    • 1 Corinthians 12:4-7

Students who attend CG Youth have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ or are open to learning about Christianity and are willing to support the beliefs listed above.
